Privacy Policy

The short version
You don’t need an account to play, and there are no ads, analytics or tracking. We only keep what is needed to run your game, and lobbies are deleted automatically shortly after they go quiet. Logging in with Discord is optional and is used to give site admins access to server statistics.
What we collect
- Display name - the name you type in to play. It is shown to other players in your lobby, and to anyone browsing public lobbies if you host a public game.
- Player ID - a random identifier generated by your browser so you can reconnect to your game. It is not linked to your identity.
- Game state - lobby code, the players in it, cards, scores and the game log.
Like any website, our server necessarily sees your IP address while you are connected in order to send you data. We do not store it alongside your game or use it to identify you.
Stored on your device
We use your browser’s local storage to remember your name, your player ID, the lobby you were last in, and whether you have seen the tutorial. This never leaves your device except when it is sent to our server to join or rejoin a game. We only set cookies if you log in (see below). You can clear all of this at any time through your browser settings.
Logging in with Discord
If you choose to log in, Discord shares your account ID, username and avatar with us (the “identify” scope only - never your email, servers or messages). We store these in a signed cookie in your browser so you stay logged in for up to 7 days, and a short-lived cookie during login to protect against forgery. We don’t keep a copy on our server, and we don’t store your Discord access token. Logging out deletes the cookie.
We keep an anonymous count of how many logins have happened, with no link to who logged in. If you are a site admin, your Discord account ID (and an optional note) is stored in our database so we know you have admin access.
Anonymous game statistics
When a game ends we save an anonymous record of it so we can balance and improve the game - for example which cards were played, coin flip results, scores, how long the game took, and whether each seat was a person or a bot. Players are recorded only by seat number (1st, 2nd, 3rd…).
These records never include names, player IDs, lobby codes, IP addresses, Discord details or anything else that could identify you, and they can’t be linked back to you or to other games you have played.
How long we keep it
Lobby and game data is held in memory and in a short-lived database so games survive a server restart. Each lobby expires automatically after 2 hours without activity, and is removed sooner once everyone leaves. The anonymous game statistics and running totals described above contain no personal data, so we keep them indefinitely.
Sharing
We do not sell or share your data with anyone. The only people who see your display name and game activity are the other players in your lobby (and lobby browsers, for public games).
Children
The game is suitable for all ages and collects no personal information beyond a chosen display name. Please avoid using your real full name.
